Samuel Ross‘ A-COLD-WALL* and the British footwear brand Dr. Martens return for their third collaboration, for this effort they updated the 1461 silhouette which released in “Graphite” just this past summer, with a slight change, in all black.

We look at these as a combination of the 1460 that first dropped in July 2020 and the 1461 Bex “Graphite.” Both feature a split, folded tongue section, except for the new pair featuring laces as the “Graphite” pair featured a zipper.

Starting with the tongue section, which comes locked to the upper using metal rivets, and the welcomed addition of clean white top stitching. You’ll also find the ACW* bracket logo on the shoes upper except this time around it’s placed neatly on the mid-panel, as opposed to being stamped on the rear-quarter heel section like the former 1461.

They finish the shoes’ design with a unique sole unit that’s quintessentially Dr. Martens. Appearing in a semi-translucent clear rubber hue, the ribbed AirWair-equipped piece features with the brand’s signature yellow double-welt stitching that runs along a black bumper.

The A-COLD-WALL* x Dr. Martens 1461 in black drops on November 6 on Dr. Martens’ online store. Each pair will cost you $230 USD. In other footwear news, New Balance’s 1300 Gets a Premium “Tan” and “Navy” Rework.
