We know, the mall retailer isn’t a brand you’d expect for a collaboration like this. Honestly, it makes sense as J.Crew has a longstanding relationship with New Balance. If you’ve been a fan you may have noticed they typically have special colorways and collaborations with the brand year round. As the summer ended, we received an elevated menswear and womenswear collection which applied an outdoorsy palette to the 997H. They’ve now followed that release with this New York-inspired New Balance 992 collaboration. This multi-colored collaboration isn’t what you may expect, but it definitely has the potential to grow on you. Especially considering it’s inspired by the Big Apple.

Jordan Brand Unveil the Air Jordan 12 “Royalty” Set To Release This Week

It starts with a well-constructed upper which features mesh underlays and suede overlays. Which feature a rich and bold hue of blue. We also find hits of orange featured on the “N” logos, tongue branding and laces as a nod to the east coast state’s flag. We find a little more suede along the mudguards, toe tips and heels. Which all come in a healthy brown hue as a last nod to  Woodstock, Central Park and the Adirondacks. They packed SBS ABZORB inside the midsoles to supply wearers with a plush and comfortable fit.

These J.Crew x New Balance 992s dropped yesterday for $175 USD online and in select J.Crew stores. You can take a detailed look at the images in the gallery above. Lastly, for more footwear and sneaker news, Casablanca Unveils Minimal New Balance 327 Collaboration.
