The number one reason to watch the Olympics is, of course, USA Basketball. Ever since the 92 Dream Team allowed NBA superstars to compete on an international level, the US has dominated the competition. USA Basketball has claimed gold in six out of seven Olympic games since 1992.
Led by Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, and Bradley Beal, Team USA looks poised to claim their fourth consecutive gold medal. Durant looks to tie Carmelo Anthony as the only player to claim Olympic gold three times.
The trio is joined by young stars Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, Bam Adebayo, and Zach Lavine. Olympic veterans Draymond Green and Kevin Love will provide a strong veteran presence for the squad. Bucks stars Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday, as well as Jerami Grant of the Pistons, round out the 12-man roster.

Several superstars including LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Donovan Mitchell, and James Harden opted out of the summer games to rest up for next season.
The squad is led by legendary Spurs coach Greg Popovich. Coach Pop is making his Olympic debut as head coach after taking over for Mike Krzyzewski. Pop previously led Team USA to a quarterfinals loss in the 2019 World Cup, the worst performance in at a World Cup in United States history.
The 2021 Olympics kick off live from Tokyo on Friday, July 23rd. All of the action can be watched on NBC and their affiliated networks. For more hoops news from WavyPack, check out this article on the NBA Draft Lottery.
