Nike Teams Up With READYMADE For a Deconstructed Blazer Mid

Made with a unique, deconstructed elements that serve as the primary design esthetic.

We love the deconstructed nature of the Nike x READYMADE Blazer Mid. As The Swoosh elevates one of its earliest basketball silhouettes. Starting with its thinner, longer, half-stitched Swoosh, formally used in the 1971 iteration of the sneaker. Paired with splotched foam and angled leather side panels beneath. What you get is a design that shows off the Japanese brand’s core design values and harkens to the nostalgia created by its founder, Yuta Hosokawa.

Nike Focuses on Sustainability With the Challenger OG “Mean Green”

This sits atop a midsole with volume as they used clay molds that truly give the shoe a unique design language. You’ll find exposed foam on the collar and tongue, and three distinct sets of laces over the toe box to give the shoe more of a layered look. Keeping sustainability in mind, the shoe features 15 percent Nike Grind, a mix of recycled materials straight from Nike manufacturing scrap of one offs and worn out sneakers that at some point would’ve made it to a landfill.

“We deconstructed the Blazer and recreated it without losing sight of its DNA. I have been playing basketball since I was in third grade. The first pair of shoes I bought for myself were Nikes. That’s how I came to like fashion.”

We think the Nike x READYMADE Blazer Mid looks great. You can let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. Look for these to release within the coming weeks on Nike.com and the Nike SNKRS app. Lastly, for more footwear news, Nike Gives Dior Jordan 1 Vibes With the Nike Dunk High “Vast Grey“.
