We had our first look at these late last year. We now have official images of the coveted Nike SB Dunk Low “Pink Pig.” At first fans thought that the shoe was named after its pinkish hue alike would suggest a pork-affiliated inspiration, but it seems the “Pink Pig” pulls inspiration from the Porsche 917/20 race car that debuted in 1971’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car named its panels choice cuts of meat from a pig.
It all starts with a full suede that features a rich pink hue. They remind us of Nike SB Dunk High “When Pigs Fly” from 2012 by Concepts, although the “Pink Pig” is a few shades darker. This pink hue sits on the entire upper from mudguard to heel. Nike adds hits of contrast in the form of red stitching. You’ll find more red hits via the branded accents on the tongue’s fabric tag and the heel’s embroidered Nike logo. This all sits atop a stark white midsoles and black outsoles to round off the look.
The Nike SB Dunk Low “Pink Pig” will probably hit skate shops globally over the course of February: Asia will see a release February 1, Europe on February 13, and US retailers are still TBA. We’ll keep you posted on the official release date, but SB releases can be hard to track down. You can take a detailed look in the gallery above.
