Vitra held the Vitra Summit looking recently and with it came with two new sustainable chairs. What they unveiled at the digital conference is the EVO-C, designed by Jasper Morrison, and an updated Tip Ton chair designed in collaboration with Barber & Osgerby back in 2011.

The EVO-C chair features a cantilevered design, paying homage to the Vitra Panton Chair designed by Verner Panton. They’ve built the chair using a unique glass injection technique which uses moulding technology. This permits extra flex, support and comfort, allowing the design almost vanish into the shape of the chair. This gives the EVO-C amazing durability. Expect this chair to last for decades and that kind of lifespan come welcomed.

Regarding the new Tip Ton RE, Vitra constructed the Tip Ton chair from a new material of locally sourced household waste. The chair comes in a with bits of color throughout. What we see, the color of the processed without the additional colorants added to the material. The chair is 100 percent recyclable when the Tip Ton RE comes to the end of its life span.

Have a look at the two new chairs in the gallery above, and head over to the Vitra website for more information. Lastly, for more design news, The LR2 House by Montalba Architects is a Structural Masterpiece.
