Hailing from Brooklyn NY, Breon Waleed born Breon Wilson has that hustle gene. It’s the drive that you’ll find in most New Yorkers. A can’t lose mentality that brinks on the highest levels of confidence. Before transitioning to making music, Waleed played guitar 8 to 14 that is until he discovered rapping and music production. Pulling inspiration from hip hop greats such as  DJ Premier, Madlib, J Dilla and Pete Rock. Taking music seriously and as a primary focus in 2015. Overtime Waleed has grown as an artist. His latest single “My Ticket Out” speaks to this progress. Rapping over NY-Drill themed production. The track inspires perseverance and provides an introspective look at the conscious state of Waleed.

He’s striving for, and pushing towards an obtainable goal. Motivated by the timeline in which he reflects from. This comes with the environment. The cars, the money, the women and the unforgiving gritty streets of New York. This isn’t anything you haven’t heard before until you pay attention to the angle Waleed pushes his narrative. Always a want not a need, and coming from a place in between desiring more and having enough. Overall it makes for a great listen, you can play more of his tracks via the link here. Lastly, for more indie spotlights, LOU Tells a West Coast Story in Superb New EP “Gettin’ Away”.
