The wait is finally over for one of the most anticipated sneaker releases of the year. After nearly two years of rumors and speculation, Jordan Brand has confirmed that Zion Williamson’s Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Voodoo Alternate” is set for a retail launch. The mythical blue colorway, which was once thought to be a player exclusive, will now be available to the public.
The story of the “Voodoo Alternate” begins with the massive success of Williamson’s original “Voodoo” Air Jordan 1 Low OG in 2022. Following that release, a new sample appeared in late 2023, featuring a similar deconstructed aesthetic but drenched in a striking blue color scheme. The pair generated significant buzz online, with many fans hoping for a retail drop. Now, after months of uncertainty, Jordan Brand is answering the call, bringing the highly coveted sample to market.

This new iteration features an almost identical makeup to its 2022 counterpart, swapping the earthy tones for vibrant shades of blue and indigo. The upper is constructed from a rich mix of premium suede and coarse, burlap like materials, giving the shoe its signature handcrafted feel. All of the unique “Voodoo” design elements are present, including the iconic skull logo stitched onto the lateral heel, the inverted Jordan Wings logo on the heel tab, and the upside down tongue tag.
Other shared details include the forefoot mini Swoosh, braided rope laces, and the prominent, sporadic crisscross stitching that adds to the shoe’s deconstructed charm. Nike has just released official images of the sneaker, giving fans their best look yet at the spooky details ahead of the launch.
The Zion Williamson Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Voodoo Alternate” is now scheduled to release on October 29, 2025. It will be available via the Nike SNKRS app and at select Jordan Brand retailers, with a starting price of $165 USD.
