Nowadays, streetwear companies, luxury labels, and footwear imprints are always competing to discover who can create the most inventive slides, clogs, and mules. With Ye out of the picture (for the time being) in the athletic sector, there’s a void in the market for fashion-forward slides, so John Geiger is hoping to seize the opportunity. The streetwear designer has recently announced the launching of his new JG Slide for Spring ’23.

Geiger’s new footwear design is made of biodegradable EVA foam in an effort to be more environmentally aware. So far, three tonal colors have been released: a pale green, a bright red, and an entirely black version. The top is emblazoned with a “g” emblem that spans both feet, and his distinctive symbol is embedded in the heel of the footbed. The sneakers are sculpted with a toothy outsole reminiscent of Ye’s YEEZY SLIDE, but the spikes here curve up towards the center of the model for a small bit of extra flare. In addition, the phrase “Too Many No’s Not Enough O’s” is written in high letters around the heel.
