Samuel Ross’ A-COLD-WALL* starts the new year on a high note with the reveal of its Pre-Spring 2023 collection. Building upon four systematic visual narratives – Considered, Eclipse, Uniform, and Conditioned – the seasonal concepts embody the core of ACW’s codes while introducing new fabrications, experimental print techniques, color palettes, and distorted motifs.

Beginning with Eclipse, color takes on a new dimension through merging and dissolving patterns. Vivid shades of cool blue and green fade through gradient techniques on a selection of familiar jersey materials. For Conditioned, fabrics become a canvas for experimentation as A-COLD-WALL* focuses on innovation and technique. Overlayed prints, irregular dyes, brush stroke effects, marbled surfaces, and intricate washes give garments an intense character. Additionally, typography and numerics render in multiple forms, from asymmetric codes to shimmering foil panels.
The Uniform series, meanwhile, sets elevated standards by bringing together transitional essentials to build a practical wardrobe for everyday use. Here, deep reds and vivid blues punctuate a primarily greyscale palette. Slides, flagship M65 military jackets, and other silhouettes in this range are ideal for layering. Finally, the Considered aka Hypergraphic series sees solar flares of red and yellow morph through hypergraphic prints.
