The modern Ford GT is one of the most elusive supercars on the market. Well, things are about to get even more secretive as the American manufacturer has officially announced the track-only 2023 Ford GT Mk IV.
This racing incarnation comes with a slew of modifications and components to make it a formidable component on the grid. With just 67 due to be manufactured in respect to the original 1967 racer. Starting with the body, the GT gains a Long Tail design for improved aerodynamics and drag coefficient. All composed of carbon fiber, as well as an overall increase in wheelbase that improves handling.
Headlight coverings that display just slithers of LED illumination. A massive air-dividing front splitter, and front bonnert luvres provide the car a smoother overall appearance. Around the sides, we see aero discs as rims, all of the iconic GT elements like the flying buttresses. In addition to the massive rear wing that shows its grandeur towards the back. This wing works in tandem with the Long Tail design to force the car into the ground, essential in this rear-wheel-drive behemoth.

This comes by way of Ford tuning the Eco-Boost engine to produce over 800 HP. Which is combined with a racing transmission and Multimatic’s Adaptive Spool Valve suspension. Each of the 67 will cost around $1.7 million USD, with delivery beginning in late spring 2023.
“Multimatic’s brief was to create the most extreme final version of the Ford GT. The Mk IV is the outcome,” said Larry Holt, executive vice president, Multimatic Special Vehicle Operations Group. “A unique larger displacement engine, proper racing gearbox, stretched wheelbase and truly radical body resulted in an unprecedented level of performance. We are proud to have been a part of the third-generation GT from its inception to this amazing swan song and consider it a significant chapter in Multimatic’s history.”
