Netflix Shares New Trailer for ‘jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy’

Act 1 arrives on February 16th.

One of the most highly-anticipated documentaries in the works this year is Netflix’s jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy. The film chronicles the rise of Ye (fka Kanye West) from prodigal producer to cultural icon. The latest trailer includes footage from several Ye eras from The College Dropout, to Watch the Throne, to The Life of Pablo.

“There’s people who might be better programmers, better rappers, but where I think I won is I had the heart.”

Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah serve as directors for the forthcoming picture. The duo, known as Coodie & Chike, worked with Ye on videos for “Through the Wire” and “Jesus Walks.” The first act of the film initially premiered during Sundance’s virtual festival last month. Prior to that event, Ye publicly asked for “final edit and approval” on the documentary via Instagram. The directors, however, later confirmed that Ye was not given the final cut.
