No one is working harder than Chitose Abe right now, except for “Virgil”. Although she’s generating much heat. Her latest offering is something wonderful. The new collaboration brings in the help of Japanese label fragment design into the fold. Which involves two fresh takes on the Nike LDWaffle. We also have a “Blue Void” release with official images here, but for now, lets focus on the sacai x fragment design x Nike LDWaffle “Light Smoke Grey”.
There’s really no surprise here. It all starts with that breathable mesh mid-foot and toe box. Followed by thick suede overlays that sit neatly on the throat also. You’ll also find this same suede on the mudguard and heels. Typical of sacai, we find the signature dual side swooshes and tongues that feature the double-stacked look. Both coming in a crisp combination of grey and white and all white. You’ll find Nike branding on the tongues, while one features Hiroshi Fujiwara‘s signature bolt logo. Beneath the base, the lipped-out midsoles come decorated with a “The Classic: Fragment: sacai” spell-out on the lateral portion of the heel. Completing this three-way installment are “Light Smoke Grey” mid-sections and solid black waffle outsoles.
Expect these to drop sometime in August for a retail price of $175 USD, although the Swoosh has yet to confirm this. For now you can take a detailed look at the images in the gallery above. Lastly, for more sneaker news, Nike Gives Off Heavy UNC Vibes With The Nike Dunk High “Aluminum”.
