In honor of the sneakers debut year.

Nike‘s latest sneaker is a mod on the classic Nike Cortez. There’s so much history with this sneaker, and Nike wanted to showcase that in their latest release. Dubbed the “1972,” the sneaker’s colorway and name is a nod to the shoe’s debut year. Featuring plenty of classic detailing to give the vintage look.

They designed the shoe with some really glorious colors such as “Coconut Milk,” “Obsidian,” “White,” “Crimson,” and “Green.” The sneaker features a navy tongue with paired with heel and tri-toned Nike Swooshes for branding. Beige suede panels sit neatly on the eyelets, toecap, and rear quarter. Most of the sneaker features a light cream hue. To round off the look. This all sits atop a stark white midsole. Detailed with two red lines around the heel to finish the Nike Cortez’s classic look.

We don’t have an official release date for these yet. But as soon as we do, we’ll add it on our sneaker release calendar. The Nike Cortez “1972” will hit retailers for a solid price of $90. You can take a detailed look at the sneakers in the gallery above. Lastly, for more sneaker releases and news, check out the Stingwater x Nike SB Dunk Low “Magic Mushroom”.
