LeBron James Steps on Court With The Toon Squad in First “Space Jam: A New Legacy” Trailer

We finally get a look at what to expect in the next chapter of the Space Jam franchise.

The time is almost here. Warner Bros. has finally debuted the trailer for its highly anticipated new movie Space Jam: A New Legacy. Today we get a first look at the official trailer for the film. In the short two-minute trailer we get an idea of the plot of the movie. We also get a first look at LeBron James and his Tune Squad teammates, who will face off against the all-new Goon Squad, replacing the original film’s Monstars.

This movie garnered a lot of attention since the news first came out about five years ago. As Warner Bros trickled out news regarding the film between 2016 and the film’s upcoming release set for July 16, 2021 release. Don Cheadle, Khris Davis and Sonequa Martin-Green join James as live action stars, with polymath voice actor Eric Bauza wearing various hats and young actor Cedric Joe as James’ in-movie son, Dom, who’s central to the new film’s plot.

In the film James and Dom get sucked into a digital realm by Cheadle’s villainous A.I., who demands that James best him in basketball to free both Dom and himself. What follows will probably feel similar to fans who adored the original.  As James trains with the Tune Squad to prepare for the big game. Expect several roadblocks on their journey — as stars will randomly transition from 3D to 2D and back to 3D — and, unlike the original’s Looney Tunes-centric cast, expect Space Jam: A New Legacy to employ an abundance of Warner cameos. The trailer alone previews King Kong, Gandalf, the Iron Giant, Yogi Bear and plenty of other familiar faces.

You can take a look at the first trailer for Space Jam 2: A New Legacy in the player above. The movie drops on July 16 in thearters and HBO Max, so mark your calendars. Lastly, for more entertainment news, Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” Strives to Make a Lasting Impression in First Trailer.
