Meeting Supreme Carl was an experience within itself. Reserved, with a cooler than you persona, yet this disposition is non-intentional. Supreme Carl is in fact a tastemaker. Hailing from the Bronx, his drive pushed by ever-changing circumstance propel his creativity.

Earlier this year we attended a showcase which featured Supreme Carl as the headliner and within seconds we understood that there was something different powering Supreme Carl’s movement. He’s beloved within his circle and has earned the respect of his contemporaries. During the performance, he transitioned effortlessly. Giving way to dynamic, high octane and infectious energy. During conversations with Preme, we discovered he’s humbled by his trajectory. Understanding he’s not where he wants to be, but aware he’s progressed. It’s progress and passion that are the differentiators. For without these, success is improbable.
For his latest offering, Carlito pays homage to the turf he calls home, the Bronx. The record dubbed “6 Side” carries weight, as he proudly gives credit where its due. Chanting affirmations that only those from his walk of life could resonate with. But these are emotions we’ve all felt regarding the pride of where we call home. So it’s still very applicable. The production features a bright and bouncy synth lead paired with heavy-hitting 808’s and pulsating kicks that give way to a simple yet memorable hook:
“Young ni**as came up from BX I know you see us b*tch/ I know you ni**as wanna be us, yall better stick to the script”
Where Supreme Carl goes from here is entirely up to him but with the support of himself and those he has standing behind him.
