One of the most infectious artists made it across my desk a few days ago. This artist goes by Octavian, and for the past few days I’ve been diving into his music. What I’ve realized is how underrated he is. The French-British rapper, singer, and songwriter is having a breakthrough year. Even with an ongoing pandemic, Octavian continues to make waves. The release of his latest single will definately put Octavian at the forefront of people’s minds.
The official video for “Rari (Chapter 1)” will appear on Octavian’s debut album. Executive produced by Skepta and will release under Black Butter/RCA Records. “Rari (Chapter 1)” is also the latest of several collaborative tracks from Octavian this year. So it’s safe to say that he’s been busy. I honestly believe that Future has enough star power to catapult Octavian to superstardom. This is one of the more potent verses from future. His super syrupy flow only compliments the production and what Octavian offers sonically.
The Crown & Owls direct visual is stunning and the transition to “Rari” from “Chapter 1” is fantastic visual. I’m not sure if it’s just me. But during the visual for “Rari” the raspy autotuned flow coming from him reminds me a great deal of Travis Scott. Nonetheless, I believe Octavian could have the best album of 2020 if he continues down this path. You can watch the official video for “Rari (Chapter 1)” above.
