RIMOWA returns with a new devision for the company, RIMOWA Eyewear. The high-quality luggage company plan on jumping into the eyewear business. And for their introduction into the space they’ve created a unique range of sunglasses and optical glasses. With daily wear and constant travel in mind, the glasses are meant to match RIMOWA’s luggage design language.
RIMOWA fragments the eyewear into three styles, all pieces are unisex and come with a high-quality RIMOWA Eyewear protective pouch that can “withstand the rigours of travel” as stated in a press release. You can see where they’ve used their expertise from making luggage to create these frames. For example, the lines used are similar to RIMOWA’s suitcase grooves. They round things off with colorful reflective lenses for this style.

The RIMOWA Bridge glasses feature two pieces of overlaid nylon and a metal mask, attached by visible pins that mirror the industrial rivets reminiscent of their luggage. This all comes together to create a sleek silhouette. The RIMOWA Rim models offer styles in acetate, tortoiseshell or muted black. Finally, RIMOWA Air, the optical line come with stock lenses already in them, ready to be replaced with prescription lenses at any time.
The collection drops on July 9 via RIMOWA’s website and select flagships stores. RIMOWA Air glasses will also be available at select opticians worldwide. Now for the pricing.
