Jordan Peele-Produced Horror Film ‘HIM’ Drops Unsettling First Trailer

Universal Pictures has dropped the highly anticipated first trailer for HIM, a new horror film from producer Jordan Peele’s celebrated Monkeypaw Productions. The film, directed by rising talent Justin Tipping, promises a chilling journey into the dark side of fame, idolatry, and the pursuit of excellence at any cost. HIM is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 19, 2025.

The trailer and official synopsis introduce audiences to Cameron Cade, a rising star quarterback played by Tyriq Withers. On the eve of the professional football scouting Combine, a moment that should launch his career, Cam is attacked by a fan and suffers a potentially career ending brain trauma. Just as his dreams seem to be shattered, a lifeline appears in the form of his hero, Isaiah White, a legendary eight time championship quarterback and cultural megastar, played in a dramatic turn by Marlon Wayans.

Isaiah offers to train Cam at his isolated private compound, which he shares with his celebrity influencer wife, Elsie (Julia Fox). What begins as a dream mentorship, however, quickly curdles into a nightmare. The trailer shows Isaiah’s intense charisma twisting into something much darker and more manipulative, sending his young protégé down a disorienting psychological rabbit hole where the price of a comeback may be his own identity.

The involvement of Jordan Peele as a producer immediately sets high expectations for a film that is more than just a simple horror story. Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, the studio behind modern classics like Get Out and Us, is renowned for using the genre as a vehicle for sharp social and psychological commentary. The film also boasts a dynamic and eclectic supporting cast, including alternative comedy legend Tim Heidecker, comedian Jim Jefferies, and hip hop phenoms Guapdad 4000 and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack, signaling a unique and thought-provoking cinematic experience.

With its blend of sports drama and psychological terror, HIM is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated horror events of the fall season.
