Streetwear label Fly Geenius recently revealed its latest lineup for Vanson Leathers in collaboration with multi-hyphenate creative Aleali May. Davon Bean, founder of Fly Geenius and newly-appointed creative director of Vanson Leathers, recruited May as the first female designer to collaborate with Fly Geenius. This union between two creative visionaries realizes a shared ideation for leather-clad streetwear inspired by Black biker culture.
“When I became the creative director for Vanson Leathers streetwear division, one of my goals was to shine light on female bike riders, and women in fashion,” said Bean. “The first person I thought of was Aleali May. She is an inspiration for many of her generation; a charismatic female powerhouse, full of creativity, and innovation.”
Aleali May’s design ethos resides comfortably between streetwear and high fashion while blending masculine and feminine tropes for an often genderless aesthetic. May is no stranger to shattering glass ceilings in the fashion industry as she forges new paths for female visionaries. Last year, she became the first woman to design unisex sneakers for Jordan Brand.

The collaborative range includes custom-designed jackets, vests, and accessories crafted by Vanson. Each piece fuses functional gear with a standout-statement mentality across a striking light blue and red palette. Various logo patches, bold tones, and signature iconography dominate the lineup, further showing May’s fondness for bold, double-take-worthy style. Additionally, May detailed how motorcycle clubs influenced her upbringing in a recent Instagram post.
“I grew up around bikes all my life with my Dad (aka Buddha) as a member of motorcycle clubs like ‘Ruff Ryders’ and now ‘Chosen Few.’ Not only did it influence my personal style, it really taught me how to build a foundation with a solid squad, celebrate together, and enjoy the ride.”
