Japanese retailer BEAMS just unveiled its latest offering from its in-house BEAMS Plus line. For this collection BEAMS seeks to tap into the “golden age” of American fashion for its Spring/Summer 2021 Lookbook, delivering menswear with preparatory styling of the ’50s and ’60s ivy league students.
Down styling is what we know Japanese company for, as BEAMS thrives on delivering comfortable yet functional clothing, while they’ve provided this for plenty of collaborations. You see this more than ever in its BEAMS Plus collections. For this collection they keep that ethos alive with a collection that features an going blazer, shirt and trousers styles which also loosely incorporate Indian batik patterns. Elevating Western silhouettes with bold hues and dynamic accents.
For instance, the wool Harrington jacket and short set make for unique dressing, very different from the baggy military styles that they feature with the coat. Then there’s the pullover smock, cargo pants and ripstop shorts styled with wanton appeal. Standout pieces include the double-breasted slub yarn blazer, which features a retro peak lapel to create the perfect summer suit.
The Spring/Summer 2021 BEAMS Plus collection drops on BEAMS’ website on March 3. Take a look at the detailed images in the gallery above. Lastly, for more fashion news, Drôle de Monsieur’s SS2021 Collection Pulls From French Riviera Style.
